Christmas 2011

Well as you may have seen or heard on Facebook or Twitter, me and my Bambi (Daniel) are no longer together which is completely my fault :'( and it has been an incredibly hard couple of months. However since I have come home for Christmas we have seen each other a couple of times, been to Meadowhall and the cinema etc and we are now seeing each other which is step forward :D. I'm hoping that when he goes back to Leeds tomorrow he won't forget about me and that I won't lose him but it will make things better and we can keep moving forward and eventually get my Bambi back. I miss him so much!

Anyway what I actually wanted to blog about was Christmas, which I would normally say is the best time of year, hasn't been the same. When I got here we went for a chinese with the family as Aunty Sam, Uncle Dave and Toby had come up for a few days. When we was ordering we asked about student discount and they were fine with it then he asked how old me and Toby were, obvs he is 11 and I said I was 20, however when it came round to him going through what we had ordered he said '2 child's meals'. WHAT!?! The waiter doesn't believe I am 20 but thinks I am under 16, I didn't complain though, its cheaper :). Apart from working I saw Danny on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday where we watched tv and he fixed my laptop and then on Christmas Eve we went to Meadowhall and saw Sherlock Holmes. It was nice to see him again and we have started to get on better :) plus Sherlock was amazing!!! On Thursday I also saw my Tessalina Thumbalina where we updated each other on goings on and swapped Christmas presents :). For Christmas dinner we went to Aunty Mandy's new house, where she has been all housewifey and grown up lol.

Merry Christmas!!
We spent most of the day there and then we had to go home as I had work in the morning. After work I went to Grandma Greg's to wish Grandad Greg a Happy Birthday and she had saved me some tea :'). Lovely thing to come home to after a long days work. Then yesterday me and Danny played on Mum's new wii and watched tv. Today I have been soooo lazy lol and just written my blogs, had a tidy etc etc but I shall be babysitting with Danny later, having a Pizza and watching An Idiot Abroad 2 which I bought him for Chrimbo. As it is the last time I will probably see him before he goes back to Leeds, I want it to be nice and hopefully it will be :)

Fingers Crossed the New Year gets better!!!

Whitby Field Trip 2011

Well I thought as seen as I haven't blogged alot I would go into more detail about my little life in Hull. As I said on a previous post I went to Whitby for my Field Studies in Marine Biology module.

Runswick Bay :)

For this trip we stayed at Sneaton Castle Centre where a shared a floor with Jess, Smee, Hannah and Louise (a demonstrator) but on many nights and days Lydia and Eve came to keep us company. Them and me now make up the Angry Bird Crew (Y).

Day 1: Me and Smee decided to drive up there ourselves as the silly mite gets travel sick so we met the others there. Once we were there we unpacked, talked about the rules, had tea and then walked into Whitby.  Basically all we did was spend our time on the arcades and win a pot angry bird each.

Day 2: Sampling on a rocky shore with the ABCrew and taking the samples back for identification and drawing, then off to the bar for card games and gossip :).

 Green Shore Crab

Jess identifying stuff (Y)

Day 3: Sampling on a sandy beach whilst determining the shore profile and using fancy equipment, then taking the samples back for identification and drawing. This was the longest day ever, we had finished identifying, drawing and sieving through sand before the other groups but had to wait till 8/9pm till we could do the final piece so we didn't get out of the lab till 10pm, but off to the bar we went and played animal charades for our last night :).

 Shore Profiling.

 Lydia

Me and Hannah got to paddle in the sea :)

Angry Bird Crew (Y)

Day 4: Shore profiling on a rocky shore and identifying in the field. Then back home :D.

Hannah falling asleep on the last day.

I had a really great time and I met some lovely people :). Cannie wait for next years field trip, it's lovely to get away sometimes!

Hull Uni

So I know its been a while since I last blogged but I have been very busy. I am now in my lovely house at Hull with Rach, Tom, Iona and Chloe. My room is all set up, work is going well and uni is going really fast; in about 3 weeks I will have finished the first semester!! My grades are okay ranging from 54-82 so I can't complain too much and the work load isn't heavy which is why I am struggling to keep myself busy, plus having no money never helps.

I have, however, joined the zoological society who seem very lovely. I have been on some socials with them and been surveying in Filey which I shall be doing again this Saturday so it's going quite well. I also went on a field trip to Whitby this past week for my Field Studies in Marine Biology module. I got to survey the beach with some friends for 3 days which was suprisingly fun as tbh I don't have many friends in Hull but I'm getting there.

Anyway at the moment I am just revising and waiting for data from my Whitby trip so I can start writing my report, typical student (Y).

Change

As I wait to move into my new house at my new university, I think to myself why not go for a new style. My clothes are are starting to get there with what funds I have but my hair needs updating. I had it cut just over a month ago with it short at the back and longer at the front but when I straighten it it's really not me, however when I leave it to dry and give it a scrunch it looks like this......

.... it's quite nice.  But I love straightening my hair and scrunching doesn't always go right, so I have decided to grow my hair a bit and get it cut like this............

.....Alexis Bledel, the Gilmore Girl of my life :). I then thought why don't I change colour too, I mean I'll be in a new place and people won't know me as the boring little brunette so I decided upon this colour.........

....it's cyber purple by Live Color XXL. But the problem is I'm a little bit scared, big changes to my appearance take a lot of courage and I'm hoping it won't make me look too pale either. Please please please let me know what you think or any ideas, especially the hair colour and you never know there maybe a big change next time I have a little blog :D

Holland 2011

So there I was shaking, icky tummy and nearly crying whilst I made dearest Katy talk to me about anything and everything to take my mind off the plane journey. I wasn't bothered about the actually up the air bit it was the taking off and landing that bothered me most. Our plane was called so I had one last trip to the toilet and joined the queue. We got on a bus to the furthest part of the airport and got on the plane, all the way Katy was holding my hand and rambling. I got settled with my water, sweeties and Katy and waited whilst looking out the window. Then it happened the take off and afterwards I turned to Katy and went 'Was that it?' lol. All the hype and there was nothing to be scared of, such a silly Sarah :).

Once we had arrived a had my first experience with an automatic toilet, them walking escalator things and a double decker train :).

Amazing things :D

When we got to Katy's she showed me around her house and then let me get settled in my room. We then went on a bike ride to Leiden, the local town, we had lunch and shopped, it was ever so pretty! In the afternoon/night time we sunbathed on the garden, played Guitar Hero and then her Dad came home and made us breaded chicken for dinner which was scrumptious. He also told me a very Jeremy Kyle story about their family which was very entertaining.

 Windmill in Leiden :)

Don't be fooled she is the cat of two sides but I love her ♥.

On day 2 we went to the beach, I can't remember the name of it but it took about an hour to get there. The weather was glorious so we decided to have lunch and then go onto the beach. Once we had finished we went into the restaurants toilets and got changed into our swimwear, I had a black onestrap/strapless costume and Katy had a black bikini. We got outside again and from nowhere the clouds had come but it was still mega hot. We found a spot on the beach got comfy and then these guys set up in front of us and one of them decided to watch us as we put sun cream on. It obviously looked a lesbianish as we had to do each others backs but there was no need to stare. We relaxed and then I made Katy go in the sea which she hated me for because it was absolutely freezing but we did it nonetheless and it was quite relaxing. Before we left we had a sex on the beach cocktail and some mini pancakes, nomnomnom :).

Later that night Katy's mum came home from being away and we had pasta :).

Day 3 we went to the zoo and it was magnificent. We saw all kinds of animals, including a polar bear and porcupine that I had never seen before. The zoo had all your usual animals plus a butterfly/bird house, reptile and amphibian house and an aquarium center. We were there for 5/6 hours and for some we had to rush through it was that big. We bought some goodies and I bought Katy an early birthday present, a ring tailed lemur teddy which she loved :). At the end we also went on a massive playground that was for all ages but I must admit it did make me feel a bit old as the spaces were a bit small and because the kids saw you as 'adults' they were no longer thinking that you would play on the playground as well but it was fun :D. That night we had stir fry and booked tickets for the next day.

 Hippo Riding :)

 Escapee!!!

 Reliving old memories :D.

I'm too sexy for my clothes....

 I'm a baby!

Entering the zoo.

Day  4 we went to Amsterdam, we had some lunch as usual and then headed for the Heineken Experience. It was amazing, we were beer bottles and took a 4d journey along the process, saw the old factory and all the history behind the company, family and beer, got quizzed and given free beer (Y). There was also some interactive areas to pull your own pint, take a photo, make a video or t-shirt. Once we got to the shop, the hottest dutch guy ever served us and didn't get the principal of pretty please so took the micheal, but I didn't mind it was funny. I ended up buying my dad a beer glass with Dad's Beer :) engraved on it!

Me and Katy with FREE beer :)

We then toddled off to Maddam Tussauds, which I had never been to before and was quite intrigued and turned out to be quite good. We got loads of photos both good and stupid ones and we got in for cheaper due to us entering after 3pm, bonus!

 Me and Bob Marley :)

Save Katy Spiderman!!!

That night the Roscoe's took me out to a very fancy restaurant as it was my last night there. The meal and the restaurant was beautiful and it was lovely having them as company. We had complimentary champagne milkshake which was very weird so Katy ended up with 3, the alchi lol.

Katy and the moo cow outside the restaurant.

On the final day, I packed and tidied the room I had been staying in. I also bought some flowers and a card for the Roscoe's aka the Dumplings to say thank you for letting me stay and feeding me. They seemed very grateful. We then headed off to the Haag, which I think is a place. Again we had lunch and shopped/explored the area. It was beautiful just like everywhere else in Holland and there was some weird and wonderful art in the center.

 Pretty Building :)

 Art Museum

 Postage Art

 Massive Toy Dinosaur :)

 Big Head!

This one has a willy and no balls......weird.

Once we had finished in Haag it was time to take me to the airport, Katy and her mum helped me check in my luggage and showed me where to go after we had one last drink together. It was weird having to do it all by myself, I felt very grown up. But I went through security and passport and got on the plane home. At the airport in Leeds, Mum and Dad were there to pick me up, Danny was going to come but they came in the little picanto so he met me at home instead. For a while I missed Holland with all the bikes, how flat it was, the sun and the company. Sometimes I still do, it was the first and best holiday abroad by myself (+ Katy) I have had :D.

Me, myself and I

Well it's been two months since my last blog and tbh my life is boring. I have however moved from Leeds back to my loving family home, with all of my stuff. Mt dad had to put extra storage though I seemed to have accumulated quite a lot of clothes and books and shoes whilst I have been living away. I don't think they were very happy about it.

Good news :) I am off to the University of Hull in September to do Zoology as planned and I shall be living with my dearest Chloe, Tom, Iona and Rachel. Speaking of Chloe, the little one has gone and walked in my footsteps and made herself her own little blog, she talks about everyday things atm and is a happy little read: http://lifeaccordingtochlo.blogspot.com/.

I have also been transferred to Worksop Sainsbury's for the summer and atm it is very boring, I don't get to do all the stuff that i used to, I just sit on a till or go on the kiosk, no little Sainsbury's family to talk to just me, myself and I. Hopefully it will get better though, I had my first friend request from a Worksopper today though so my presence seems to be working.

Ooooohhh oooohhh I don't know if I mentioned this but tomorrow I shall be on a train to Leeds to stay at Katy's and then I shall be off to Holland on Monday so you will get a massive blog about that next weekend :D

See you then (Y)

Work de Durk

Well as I am sat here thinking that I should really be getting on with my work I have decided to have a little update :)

At the moment I am still cracking on with my assignments I have just finished my Applied Ecology seminar which hopefully my tutor will email me back and go 'Yes, that is amazing, don't make any changes'.....doubtful he will probably email me back the morning of my seminar and scare the shizzle out of me and then I will have a panicing 2/3 hours to fix it all before I present it. Anyways now I have done that I only have 4 assignments (well 3 and a half) and 2 exams to go. The assignment side I'm ok with as its just writing stuff up really but the exam side I haven't even started revising and had a realisation and panic attack last night, so I have decided to get this practical portfolio out of the way and then start revising as well as doing my last 3 assignments :D

Work wise I have met my new team leader and they are very grateful that I want to work full time, me too as student finance have slightly screwed me over (will talk about this later on). They have me working on kiosk and tills but Danny's Mum Kerry says that if they haven't totally filled my hours then she will quite happily take me :). Plus soon I can sort out my duel storing at Hull soon :D

Talking of Hull, the house is all signed for and the advance has been paid. Just waiting for my copy now. We also have a new member to the clan as Roisin has decided she no longer lives with us we now have a lovely lad called Tom, who I get on quite well with :). Bad news about Hull is that I didn't get the job at the Deep but I think I will keep trying. Also student finance has decided not to help me this year with tuition fees etc but they are going to give me everything for my 2nd and 3rd year, so this year they are giving me £5000 maintanence loan which will mostly cover my tuition fees and some rent, hence why I have to work full time over the summer, but everything should work out ok and god knows I can barely wait to move in :D.

Lastly I have finally booked tickets for Holland and shall be of on my short jollies in August (Y) so exciting. Also I have half term next week so I shall be having a bite to eat with Mat-chu at the weekend and going shopping with Katy in the week to get some bits for my cousins wedding!! So apart from working loads I should have quite a nice time off :)

Thank god things are starting to look up :D

End of Year Stresses

April, the wonderful month I get have off college and always decide to eff all with it! Well that's was a little bit of a lie but I haven't done anything much to do with college :P. I have basically just been sorting out next year, I have visited a house in Hull that I have decided to take with Chloe and 3 of her friends, all I need to do is pay the advance tomorrow and send everything off, it would have been done a lot sooner if we hadn't of had all these bank holidays :/. I have also applied for a job at The Deep as a guide (fingers crossed!) and got a transfer to a Sainsbury's back at home......aaarrrhhhhhh home :D.

I've been home quite a lot in these holidays tbh its been quite nice at times :) I've also been able to see Mat-chu, Verity and Tessalina (lovely besties) and soon be able to see Katy Roscoe, eeeekkkk!! Oooo I am also going to Holland in the summer to see my dearest Katy, so I've been sorting out my passport too, which is late again due to the bank holidays :/

Student finance have again been crap again this year, as I have done everything they ask and then they sent me an email saying 'You have an online offer' I log on and they are wanting me to send more evidence. I ring them up to make sure this is correct and they are like 'Yes your application has been processed and we have no recollection of having your evidence that you sent 2 years ago so your going to have to give it us again. Also your parents need to sned thier P60s in.' More and more evidence, I'm really sick of it. So now I have to wait for my passport to get here which may be another 2 weeks due to bank holidays, so I can tell them I am who I am and then make sure my parents do have to send their evidence in. Job after job after job. They think that I have nothing better to do, obviously I do!!!!!!!!!

So yeah apart from all the things above yet to do I also have to revise for my exams, volunteer another 30 hours and complete 9 assignments in 6 weeks, YAY! O and I have to pack..........

I ♥ being a student (Y)

Friday, 8 April 2011

Arrrgggghhhhhh!!!!

Its April, the sun is out, its nearly Easter, we have loads of bank holidays to look forward to so why am I so down.......

Well its mostly because my sweetheart of a boyfriend has gone to Lanzorate for the week, I know I know your all going to be like 'a week, that's nothing, what are you going on about dear?' but you must remember I spend every second possible with that boy and now all I have is 2 texts a day from him, 3 if I'm lucky and I can't sleep when I'm by myself, its terrible. He's out there getting a tan, sunbathing, scuba diving having a nice time and I'm here in England, yes the sun is out but I have a hell of a load of work to do and tea to cook, my room to sort out and now (here's the best part) my car only just scraped a pass on it's MOT........SCRAPED!!!!!! So I have to look for a new car now, it's bye bye for Sydney I'm afraid :'(. On top of all this I have no money and don't get any till the 22nd, so no outings for me either I can only just get back to Leeds with what I have. Thank god Danny is back on Monday. Oh Danny..........

Good part of up to yet is that I got to see my Tessalina Thumbalina :) She came and stayed with me for a bit so I wouldn't be in the flat by myself. We went shopping and to Yo Sushi which was very nice, I'd like to take Danny there when he gets back actually. We also had a Indian takeaway and watched 127 hours which was surprisingly good, I was always wondering how they were going to drag out the story for over an hour and I must say I was quite impressed :) I also have been able to come home for a few days and spend time with my family which has been quite nice, especially when there not in ;) I joke I joke! But its partly nice because I get the house to myself and the animals and I can swan about and do whatever I need to do!!!

To end on an high note: Before Daniel went away I went to a Biological Sciences, University of Hull open day and I loved it, all the time I was there I was planning and scheming everything so that's where I shall be off to in September, by myself, to study Zoology........HOOOORRRAAAHHHH!!!!

Mad as March

Oh yes its that time again, the end of another month!!!!! I can blog away and rant about nonsense till my hearts content :)

Well this month has again had its ups and downs and at the moment it's still the same which I shall ramble on about later. Firstly there was my 20th birthday (yes I am an old mofo now) and it was lovely! My parents and Aunty Mandy came up and they had bout me this amazing fellow:

Lotso, my strawberry smelling bear ♥

I also got a lovely mouse from my housemates, its a Logitech MX Performance which I am still very protective of.  Some garlic and herb sauce, my fav, money towards my iPhone 4, toiletries, a nemo and obviously more money :D So a very productive birthday. We went to the Red Hot World Buffet which was amazing, the museum and then to the Old Bar. On my actual birthday me and a few friends went bowling and then to Frankie and Benny's, I then finished the day off watching Tangled which my beloved Daniel ♥

Later on in the month came mine and Daniel's 3 year anniversary, 3 years, sometimes I can't quite believe and then others it feels like a lifetime but I still love him so. For that day we went to the Royal Armouries and Jamie's Italian however I pulled a massive strop because he made me walk all day and my feet had blister and I was tired but Daniel being Daniel stuck it out.

During March I also came home to see my lovely Nanna and would you believe she is 92.......92!!!!!! and she hasn't aged a bit since I last saw her a couple of years ago, I miss my Nanna ♥

The bad parts have been assignments, the nice weather and being able to go out, revision, tidying the flat etc etc but I guess on this occasion the good out ways the bad and March was an excellent month compared to the one I'm having atm, its been pretty disheartening but I shall tell you more about that on my next post as obviously you want to know and will keep reading my glorious spits and spats (Y)

Love and Fun

Well as seen as the month of February has quickly gone I thought I would blog about it before I can't remember anything plus it will distract me from doing work for a bit.

Obviously as it was February we had the wonderful day that is Valentines, which I love but unfortunately it was the same as every other Valentines. We woke up swapped presents, I went to do admin at the council, he went uni, we came home, went to Pizza Hut and the to the cinema. Nothing unexpected, nothing special and me planning as per usual. Now Danny will be reading this and thinking 'Wow, she is so ungrateful' but I'm not, I am just saying that sometime surprises and Danny planning something instead of me would be nice. But tbh it was still a nice relaxing day with my lover 8)

I ♥ You Daniel Shaw

Right, what else have I done in this joyous month, well I went to The Deep with college, I got to do a talk at a hospital about the council, I had a lovely free facial at Molton Brown where I got one of Danny's anniversary presents from (hushhush), I got to see my Tessalina Thumbalina :D, I got to go home and be spoilt by my Mummy. Actually one of the things we did which many of you maybe scared of is.........

.....we had our feet sucked by fish :)

I actually quite enjoyed it, it was very ticklish at first but once you got used to it and started to relax it was wonderful and made my feet really nice and smooth!

Also this month I have obviously been working, at college, at Leeds City Council, having exams, working on assignments (not so much haha) etc etc so pretty much a good month as I think I have got that work, play ratio much better :D

Next month (this month) I have my birthday, mine and Danny's anniversary, exam results, sorting out university and student finance, open days, and the usual day to day stuff (Y) Exciting or what?

EEEEEKKKKKKKK!

The Good, The Bad and The Presents

Well this month has been a whirlwind of good and bad all of which has ended up with me feeling a bit anxious and scared.

The Good :D
  • I got a conditional offer from the University of Hull for Zoology.
  • My biology exam is now over and done with and I will get my results in March.
  • Land Use Issues has now finished (wasn't very keen on this module)
  • I got a 60% in my first LUI assignment and a 70% in my PPD Portfolio Draft!
  • I got to see my Tessy and go ice skating and she got me the most wonderfulest present (photos will arrive soon)
  • I get to spend more time with Danny!
  • I got EA Active 2 to help me make my tummy flatter.
  • I've done more surveys for my otter project.
  • I'm fitting in really well at the council.
  • I spoke to Adam
  • I tidied my desk :D
  • Went shopping and got some AMAZING new jeans and boots.

The Bad :'(
  • I didn't get into Leeds University which means I have to leave the council, the YWT, my job, Leeds and my Daniel.
  • I don't believe I did very well in my biology exam.
  • I have to resit my practical biology exam in a few weeks.
  • I still have a load of assignments to do.
  • I'm waiting on replies from Nottingham, Sheffield and Bradford.
  • I have to fork out a load for my car in the next few months.
  • I have to leave my Daniel.
  • I'll be all alone soon when I have to live by myself.
  • I miss being home quite alot, probably because I've been a bit down.

But from this I guess the good out weights the bad and I do have a few good things planned for the next couple of months including Valentines Day, my 20th, mine and Danny's 3 years anniversary, seeing Mummy and Daddy and seeing ye olde Tessy :D

I can't wait especially for...........PRESENTS!!!!!!
